Ron Pearlstein

Ronald (Ron) Pearlstein is the head of the Thin Film Solutions technology organization in the Semiconductor Solutions business unit, which is a part of Merck KGaA Electronics division. As the business technology manager, he is responsible for leading the research and technology efforts for the business and ensuring that they are aligned with all of the stakeholders’ needs.  The technologies spanned by this business include deposition materials used for ALD, CVD and Spin-on films.

Dr. Pearlstein joined Air Products and Chemicals in 1989 where he conducted research in the Corporate Science and Technology Center and in the Electronics Technology organizations.  Before taking on his current role, he was chief scientist for Versum Materials and the leader of groups responsible for product development of new organosilicon and organometallic molecules and for ALD applications research.

Ron was born in Philadelphia in 1962.  He received bachelor’s degrees in both Chemical Engineering and in Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania.  In 1984 he received a Ph.D. degree in inorganic chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
