In 2019, he founded ESOL, Korea’s first company dedicated to EUV equipment, and led it to become the world’s fourth supplier of EUV production tools after delivering an EUV mask review system to a global chipmaker and mask maker. ESOL has since developed an EUV test lithography tool and an EUV pellicle measurement system and is now advancing next-generation EUV inspection technology. ESOL aims to become a world-class semiconductor equipment company powered by disruptive technologies. He holds a master’s degree in physical chemistry from Yonsei University and an MBA from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. With more than 20 years of experience in mask technology and EUV development at Samsung’s semiconductor R&D center, he is regarded as one of the leading experts in the global EUV field.
