Gowri Kamarthy

Gowri Kamarthy is an executive and technical leader with more than 25 years’ experience in semiconductor process technologies. She serves as corporate vice president of conductor etch in Lam’s Global Products Group. In this role, Gowri is responsible for spearheading comprehensive product strategies and roadmaps, and delivering innovative solutions tailored to evolving customer needs.   

She began her career at Lam in 1998 as a process engineer in new product development before moving to the conductor etch team. Gowri has held multiple leadership positions in conductor etch and was instrumental in accelerating the growth of Lam’s market-leading Kiyo^® tool. 

Gowri holds a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, where her research focused on plasma surface interactions. She has also completed the Engineering Leadership Professional Program at UC Berkeley’s Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology In addition to authoring numerous journal publications and conference papers, Gowri holds 16 patents. In 2013, she was recognized by YWCA as a Tribute to Women in Industry honoree.
